Objective – Promote the Efficient Use of Energy
CONPET was established by a federal decree in 1991, as the National Program for the Rational Use of Oil Derivatives. Its main objective is to promote the efficient use of these sources of unrenewable energy in transportation, in households, in commerce, in industry and in the agricultural and livestock industries. For its deployment, it followed the same guidelines as for PROCEL - the National Program for Power Conservation and, likewise, it is conducted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
Counting on Petrobras’ support, the program establishes technical cooperation associations and partnerships with governmental agencies, NGOs, representatives of entities related to the subject and also organizes and promotes projects. The actions of the program for the rational use of oil and natural gas derivatives contribute to the articulation of economic, environmental and institutional strategies.
